Autohemotherapy
A small amount of your own blood is drawn from a vein and then injected into the gluteal muscle and/or just under the skin (subcutaneous) near psoriatic lesions. This technique is often used for localized plaques and is thought to help modulate the immune response and reduce inflammation systemically.

 PRF (Platelet-Rich Fibrin) for Widespread or Scalp Psoriasis
When psoriasis is widespread or involves the scalp, we use PRF, which is prepared from your blood and injected directly into or under the skin (intralesional or subcutaneous) at the site of psoriatic plaques. PRF delivers concentrated growth factors that may help calm inflammation, improve skin healing, and reduce scaling and itch. 

 Both treatments use your own blood, making them autologous and generally well tolerated, with minimal risk of allergic reaction. 

• Review of your medical history, past treatments, and treatment goals
• Discussion of your interest in avoiding steroids and immunosuppressants
• Physical exam and/or photo documentation of psoriasis or eczema areas
• Personalized recommendation: autohemotherapy, PRF, or a combination

Based on your pattern of disease:

• Localized plaques:
  Autohemotherapy: a small amount of your blood is drawn from a vein and injected into the gluteal muscle and/or subcutaneously near the lesion.
• Widespread or scalp psoriasis:
  PRF: your blood is processed to create platelet-rich fibrin, which is then injected intralesionally or subcutaneously into affected areas.

You’ll receive a clear plan including:

• Number of sessions recommended
• Spacing between visits (often several weeks apart)
• Expected timeline for noticing improvement

• A small blood draw (similar to a routine lab test)
• Processing of your blood in a sterile, single-use kit
• Injections into muscle/subcutaneous tissue (autohemotherapy) or directly into/under skin lesions (PRF)
• Most patients describe the injections as mildly uncomfortable but tolerable; numbing options can be discussed

• Mild redness, swelling, or bruising at injection sites is common and usually resolves within 24–48 hours.
• You can typically resume normal activities the same day
• Basic aftercare may include:
  
  • Gentle moisturizing
  • Avoiding harsh scrubbing or heat on treated areas for 24 hours
  • Using cool packs if needed for comfort
